What's a writer to do when...

..."real life" takes over and she doesn't have time to write what she wants to? That has been the case today for the second day in a row. I worked 11 hours today for my main customer, was gone 2 1/2 hours for a church meeting, and have nothing left.

Thank goodness for short moments of inspiration such as I had this evening after church and before I got back to work, and thanks to Anne LaMotte (I can tell she's going to get lots of credit over the next few months in this blog!) for the index cards suggestion. New story forthcoming entitled, "The Queen Mother Holds Court on Her Royal Throne." I can only hint that it will include references to children, the bathroom, and the few moments I thought I'd have to myself tonight. I know, not-so-original situation, but hopefully it will be an original story!
