Monkey see, Monkey do
It's fun and sometimes scary to see your kids emulate you, especially when they are growing older--not just a preschooler dressing and acting like Mommy.
Kristen (age 8) is writing a book. She asked yesterday if she could use some marbleized printer paper I got as a gift to print something. I asked what it was, and she told me it was her book cover. I knew she had been working on something of the sort lately.
She printed it out and showed it to me. The Love of Frogs, by Kristen p...(she wrote the whole last name, I will leave it off here.) I asked if she wanted to capitalize her last name, and she said no. I asked her if that was because she wanted to use her own style, and she said yes.
I asked her what her book was about, and apparently, it's non-fiction--facts about frogs. She doesn't have any yet, though. I asked if she liked frogs. She said, "Yes, as long as I am not touching them."
