Baby steps

Here was my week:

I submitted a short story and am eagerly awaiting my first true rejection. ;) I got an acknowledgement that they received it and that alone was exciting, whether they reject it or not!

The second draft of my middle grade manuscript keeps crawling along toward completion.

My new mainstream fiction manuscript continues to brew in the coffeemaker in my brain (and I don't even drink coffee, so that's something).

I made a contact in the publishing world this week with a lady who happened to read some work I edited. I was highly complimented on my editing/writing skills and asked for my credentials for possible freelance editing and writing opportunities. (And thanks Gail and Teri...your hands touched that piece as well!)

It's been a good week.
