Oh, no, Mom, not more rules!

Liza Maakestad directed me to a blog written by some character, oops, author named E. E. Knight. You might know of him if you read vampire stories, but I don't, so he's a perfect stranger to me.

He did, however, make a thorough laundry list of the things new writers should NOT do. Most of them were familiar to me, but I'm ashamed to admit after more than two years of intensively studying the craft, there were a few I hadn't heard. And . . . a few I have heard, but am still guilty of, despite my best efforts.

Have you heard of Mary Sue? I have not, until today. GEEZ. I hope my characters aren't Mary Sues!!!
