A sign

I truly know now I'm meant to be a writer. Just got back from the La Jolla Writer's Conference and I lost weight. This is the first time that's ever, ever happened when I've gone anywhere for a conference or vacation. I knew it!
;)
I didn't have time to eat. More later.

Brush up on your publishing terms

Thanks to my co-worker, Teri, for providing a hearty laugh in the name of "research" for the academic journal we edit.

Tricks of the trade that must work

I see I have a task before me. I love it when the "pros" share some of their secrets to doing what they do so well.

Check out Barbara Samuel's method of using more creative formats than just writing to produce her wonderful books here.

This must be how she managed to have me hiding in the bathroom one day last summer when I was reading No Place Like Home, crying my eyes out, and not wanting the kids thinking I was upset about real life. :) Either that, or I really did need a good cry, and the book gave me an excuse.

I better go buy some posterboard.
